I am very proud to be on the board of Living it up, there are a local charity - Living It Up the main aim is to provide providing safe and fun pub and club style events for people with learning disabilities in a safe environment.
They believe that people with learning disabilities have the right to stay up late and have some fun.
They provide workshops on art, drama, singing, dance, radio presenting, podcasting, DJing, film editing, photography, song writing and more.
they also operate Gr8 Mates - This is friendship or dating for adults with a diagnosed learning disability or autism. maybe find a boyfriend or girlfriend.
And also Gig Buddies Bedford Gig Buddies is an amazing befriending project where someone with a learning disability or autism can be partnered with a volunteer who has similar interests and then they would go out socially once a month. This may be to a gig but could also be going to the cinema, a football match or to the gym.
